For months there has been speculation as to who will portray
the also yet-to-be-named villain in the next sequel of the
the Spider-Man franchise.
Director Sam Raimi said that he wouldn't reveal the "Spider-Man
4" villains are until the script was finished.
Earlier this month we learned that the script was just sent
back for a re-write.
In other words, no names will be announced any time soon as
to who will play the unnamed villains.
What is buzzing around the internet today (without any
confirmed reports whatsoever) is that Robert Pattinson may
be approached to play a villain in Spider-Man 4.
Tobey Maguire vs. Robert Pattinson?
certain it won't happen.
But not because Pattinson would be uninterested.
Rather, the young star has two more films in the Twilight
saga to shoot. And with Spider-Man 4 production ahead for
next year, there just might not be enough hours in the day
for Robert Pattinson to take the role - a role that no one
knows exists or will even be offered to him.
Gotta love rumors.

Starfire says:
WTF? Why do rumors keep circulating about Rob playing a villain in this movie or that movie? (read my comment below for more on this subject.)

The last rumor I heard was that he might be considered to play a villain in some other flick, which totally escapes me at the moment. It was false anyway, and now we have this new rumor.
Hell, I wouldn't and still haven't seen that one Keanu Reeves film, called the Watcher. Though there have been some interesting comments about Keanu's involvement in the film I'll share this one I got from IMDB:
[Third-billed Keanu Reeves gave his verbal agreement to director Joe Charbanic several years before production started, after reading his original script. With his involvement, the filmakers were later able to attract a bigger cast and budget than originally envisioned, and Reeves' part (originally meant as little more than a cameo) was substantially rewritten to feature him more prominently. Reportedly Keanu Reeves, who would be paid scale while his costars James Spader and Marisa Tomei would get $1,000,000 paychecks tried to drop out of the film but eventually changed his mind (apparently influenced by the legal precedent of the Kim Basinger /Boxing Helena (1993) debacle). He eventually agreed to do the picture and abstain from bad mouthing it in interviews on the condition that his involvment in the film be downplayed in all promotional material for the film, including trailers.]
I don't want to see Rob play a villain! He's the hero to me. Unless of course they portray him as tortured with a good side, you know, sort of like Cole Turner from Charmed. Now he was an interesting character. Ahh Julian McMahon, such an incredible actor. Does anybody know when the new season of Nip/Tuck will be on?
But I digress...
I just can't imagine Rob playing someone evil, or unconscionable. I guess I am thinking of the part that made the biggest impact on me. I don't need to tell you, I'm sure you already know.
